LOK Grips – CZ75B Ω (Omega) – Product Review

I had previously installed a set of LOK grips on the Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded and really liked the results (read my review of them @ https://guntoters.com/blog/2015/11/25/lok-grips-for-the-1911-user-review/). With that in mind, I ordered a second set for the CZ75B Ω (Omega); albeit, the same type but a different color combination.

For the CZ75B Ω (Omega), I selected the OD Green and Black, checkered grip that, I thought, would augment the looks of the pistol and also provide a better grip surface over the standard grip panels.

When they finally arrived, I discovered that they were more OD than black (as compared to the picture provided by LOK). The tops of the grip panels were also squared at the top and actually provide more of a thumb rest over the original, plastic grips. However, everything lined up and the grips were quickly installed.

The diamond texture of the grip panels is coarser than the standard grips but not uncomfortably so. They feel more like coarse sandpaper and will work well with a bare or gloved hand.

The fit is perfect and all of the curves of the grip panels conform to the curves of the CZ75B Ω (Omega) frame with no gaps, with the exception of a small grip at the butt of the pistol. However, the original grips panels exhibited the same degree of gap.

From LOK Grips, we have the following description:

“The checkering on these grips provides a surprising amount of grip and actually feels similar to a sand paper grip. They are made from Phenolic G10. G10 is only 1/2 the weight of aluminum but nearly as strong with a grippier (sic) texture. G10 won’t crack or shatter, like the cheaper polymer and acrylic grips are known to do. The color is dyed into the material, so scratches aren’t an issue. G10 grips will last a life time under normal use.

These grips are thinner than the stock grips. With the stock grips, the total thickness of the gun across the grips is ~1.41”. With our grips, it measures 1.2”. So these grips are approx .1 thinner each than the stock grips.”

A set of small rubber o-rings are provided with the product. Installing these on the mounting screws, will help ensure that the grip mounting screws do not back out during use. The use of the o-rings does add a slight measure of height to the screws when they are tightened, but this does not interfere with the grip on the pistol. I would recommend using the o-rings, but that is entirely left to your discretion.

I was, at first, concerned with the thinner grip width but that was set aside once the grip panels were installed. Although I prefer a thick grip width, the LOK grips felt good in the hand and reminded me of those I had just installed on the Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded pistol.

Considering the price of the LOK grips over some other grip manufacturers like VZ, the LOK grips are worth looking into – if you have a 1011-based pistol, a Beretta 92, a Ruger 22/45, or SIG Sauer P238 pistol. I especially like their “Grenade” line of grips and they would look great on the Beretta 92FS pistol, in my opinion.

If you are looking for a reasonably set of quality grips for any of the aforementioned pistols, take a look at the LOK line of grips.
