Anyone who asserts that the "slippery slope" is a fallacy in argument may wish to reconsider.

Tomorrow the knives.

Knives, like guns, are simply tools - a handheld device that aids in accomplishing a task - an implement.  They have no emotion although an emotional attachment by the user is possible.  It is the mental condition of the user that determines if they are to be used as implements of destruction.
What most 21st Century Americans simply do not grasp is that the Constitution and Bill of Rights were not written to to give rights to the citizens of our then-new nation, but was instead written to tightly constrain the federal government.
