Carrying a Pistol with a Red Dot Sight
« on: October 08, 2015, 09:46:10 AM »
While I shy away from adding optics, such as reflex sights, to a carry gun I have no qualms about adding a grip-activated/mounted laser and I am looking into that option for the Ruger SR1911CMD, such as the CTC LASERGRIP 1911 FULL-SIZE GOVERNMENT COMMANDER WOOD CRIMSON TRACE LASER SIGHTS
 CMTLG401P1.

This would mean that a new holster, or modifying an existing holster, has to be accomplished to accommodate the laser.  My major question is if the cost/benefit ratio warrants such an investment (> $300)

I shot a friend's Kimber with this type of laser and I really likes the results.

You want to shoot a red dot? Heck, I might even replace the battery in it first. Been interested in run time so I left it in past the usual replacement date.
