We do not have cable or satellite, we have Netflix.
One of many shows that top the list is Doctor Who.
a British show that has done real well, not to mention it is addicting.

I've heard of "Dr. Who", and I think I saw part of an episode once or twice.
I think I liked it.  Every once in a while I see it listed on the local Public TV channel schedule.  I'll take another look, cuz if you like it that's good enough for me to take a second look!
Cheers!

We do not have cable or satellite,.....

Neither do we! That adds up to a fair amount of cash over the years.  Not to mention I don't agree with about 99% of the programming anyway (from a Christian world-view).

Good morning.
"odd" works for me.  I can do "odd".
It's those mindless shows who's sole intent is amusement that put me off.

To "muse" is to contemplate. To "a" muse, well...hey! wait a minute.
There are places people PAY MONEY to go for "a" musement.
Hummmm.

In case any of you  know, Dr. Kent Hovind is still in prison.
Around here we call him the "Dinosaur Guy".
He is strictly a CREATIONIST and does a great job of dispelling the theory of "evolution" in his series of publications - that is before the IRS found a way to ding him for "tax evasion a few years back.

If you haven't heard of his series of presentations about Evolution verses Creation, look him up and get yourself a copy.  Watch them over and over.  No matter what you believe, these lectures are worth the watching!

Good morning again my friends, from SW Montana USA

Ciao.

We have DirecTV, but when one has Christian ideals, they use "discernment" to be able to watch the good/beneficial shows; and not the bad ones...

I've used Netflix in the past and didn't like it, and we've used Blockbuster (video service) and liked them, although we don't use anything now.  (We don't use any of the premium channels that DirecTV offers.

my wife is in the hospital, we have not turned on the tv at all.
we really have no desire to.
I used to be addicted to tv.
I love Americas deadliest catch!, fox news, documentary about wildlife, the wonders of the world, etc.
but the commercials are top notch sewer flowing into your home.

Time will tell.

That's understandable Robert.  We didn't either at dad's house....

As far as commercials go - whenever a commercial comes on any of my tv's we mute them and do something else....I've no desire to be "sold" anything or watch anything of that nature!

I'd much rather grab a book (my time machine)...

THE BLAZE
Glen Beck
Dish Network ch 212

It now occupies 68% of our viewing time.

Pointed, yes.
Correct, yes about 99% of the time.

Do we get tired of all the negative reporting, yes.

However, you'll never hear the bare facts anywhere else.

Aye, commercials is why Rosie and me haven't watched actual "TV" in a little over a decade now.

Netflix and http://www.free-tv-video-online.me Are the two best places to get all the great tv shows with none the ad breaks cramming products you don't need or want down your throat every 8-10 minutes. (Netflix is entirely ad free and free-tv is completely ad free with a pop-up and add blocker installed and all their shows have no commercials.)

I learned a long time ago that my (any) remote control has a "mute" button on it, and I use it.  If I don't have the remote and we're watching something the wife wishes to view, she knows how to use the "mute" as well.

tv commercials are pure sewage coming in. Lust, sex, etc. flows in from them, even if your watching Bambie.
None of that has any thing to do with the item they are selling.
I blew the cable peoples mind, I changed internet companies, the current one requires we pay for basic cable.
I told them just hook up the modem. do not hook up the cable tv.
lol they called to see if it was ok for them to do it that way.

Time will tell.
