I sent out a PM to everyone in my friends list on the USCCA forum mentioning this place so hopefully we'll get soem more members soon.

Perhaps making a topic on the USCCA forums themselves would help to? (Or do we want to promote the site openly on their forums?)

Seems like as good a replacement as any for USCCA. I do have a complaint right off the bat though.  The colors chosen are terrible.  I can barely see what I'm typing.  Any chance of getting that changed?  Black on black is what I'm getting and that's just plain tough to read.

Hey, ya'all! Silveressa invited me, and I'm glad to be here!. I'm wondering if we should create a thread about our dissatisfaction with USCCA. I don't want to "bash" anyone, but I'll bet lots of us want to talk about it. Whatcha think?

Personally I think bashing them is just bad form.
There is a thread on their forum already made that is bashing them and bringing it here just makes it look like we're being petty and childlike.
Let's start fresh and create a forum that is inviting instead not petty.
Do what you've always done, get what you've always gotten.

Glad to see other USCCA members here!  This may be, well since it's free it iz better than USCCA.

Don't know if a rant topic is warranted, I'll discuss that with the other mods, but don't let that limit your general discussion of that website.  I am sure, over time, that new members here, even if they aren't ex-USCCA'ers will soon come to know about that marketing plan...

Larry, no I don't like the black on black either, but am not the ITT guy - that would be Robert Harvey, the originator.  However, note that I'm mentioned it as well.

I look forward to your posts, all!.

dpenquin,
Could you let the mods know how to create a "sticky" - a post which is always at the top of each main page?  As someone said we should have a set of rules for the forum, other than what we each signed as we registered.  Thanks.

Ok, for the mods :) Only mods will see these options, as far as I know.

Attached is a screenshot of the bottom of a thread, once you open it.

1. This button allows you to move the topic to a different board, so that if, for example, someone posts something off-topic in CCW, it can be moved over to Everything Else.

2. This deletes the entire thread.

3. This locks the thread so it can be viewed but replies cannot be added.

4. This makes a thread sticky -- and once it IS sticky, the button in the SAME location makes it UNsticky.

5. Merging topics can be useful if there are two threads on the exact same subject; they can be merged together.

6. If you post an event, this button allows you to put the info in the calendar as well.

Hope this helps!

Replace it with a bumper sticker that says "Im the person your mother warned you about"
I had that one back in the 80s on my 69 volkswagon.

There's actually a court case where a prosecutor successful used such a bumper sticker as proof of a defensive shooters "aggressive, dangerous character, and violent moral outlook" to earn a conviction. (I'll try to find the link in a bit to post up for everyone)

Sadly once we're on the stand, every aspect of our life can and will be used against us. (Makes one think twice about those "trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again" warning signs eh? )

Here we go!

https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/ccm-columns/its-just-the-law/the-law-of-little-things/

Specifically this exerpt:

Quote
The guest of honor in a capital murder trial had a bumper sticker, which read: “I’m the person your mother warned you about.” This was allowed as evidence in the penalty phase, as justification for the defendant’s execution.

So actually, those bumper stickers can get you killed?  :o

Thanks for the great new site, I'm a reject from USCCA, I don't really feel like there should be a topic about the dislikes of USCCA, tired of all problems over there and this is a new start with a lot of the same people which is what I like.  New people joining this forum (not from USCCA) will ask questions about it if they are interested.  We could use a topic about other places to get insurance coverage incase it is ever needed.

I feel like I am at a high school reunion with all the old names Im seeing in this forum.  Do I like where USCCA is headed? No. But I did learn some valuable things while I was there.  The good thing is most of what I learned is from the people that are now on this forum.  With that being said lets not dwell on the past but simply move forward, learn and make this an incredible forum for seasoned carriers along with new carriers.
I shoot with my family, but most of all I shoot FOR my family.

Hi, unlike many of you I didn't come from the US*** forum. I wasn't totally impressed with the whole site so I never joined. I belong to several other gun related forums and spend the majority of my time just browsing, adding a thing or two if I think it's necessary. The best way to stay out of trouble is to keep your mouth shut.... ;) so that's primarily what I do. I'll post from time to time but what what you say, I'm always lurking around! 8)

This is a much politer forum the the other place. I have not seen any of the snarky answers to questions or comments. I'M HOME!!
Everyone is more "professional" if that is the right term. I have identified a few smart asses but, they tease with respect. I like it!

Good to hear it!  (Welcome PM sent).

Me thinks I'll need to add a motorcycle corner since
more owners are joining...

What would you call it?

Guns on two wheels?

It was 18F when I hopped on the scooter to come to work today. Brrr! But it was dry and traffic wasn't too bad.
