What most 21st Century Americans simply do not grasp is that the Constitution and Bill of Rights were not written to to give rights to the citizens of our then-new nation, but was instead written to tightly constrain the federal government.

This is exactly the way that all "underground" operatives behave: Baader-Meinhof, FFI and Maquis, the Polish resistance, and so on.
Fade into the crowd, and you stand a much better chance of never being caught.

The head of the French Resistance (FFI) in Paris survived the entire German occupation without ever being caught. And this was even after he had escaped from a German prisoner-of-war camp!
How did he do it? He looked "ordinary."

In other words, if you are with Indians, don't dress like a cowboy?

...And here I thought that the title was "How to Be a Gay Man."

Hey, on this island, that's easy!

Had a friend in college (end of the Enlightenment period in Europe, I think that was) who was in the National Guard SF unit (can't remember which one it was) asked a couple of us what the best urban camouflage was. We were hazarding ideas of grays and off whites and browns. His answer: Jeans and a t-shirt.

YEAP!
