What most 21st Century Americans simply do not grasp is that the Constitution and Bill of Rights were not written to to give rights to the citizens of our then-new nation, but was instead written to tightly constrain the federal government.

I spent much of my career conducting clinical research on drugs. Such research is supposed to be approved and monitored by Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). The regulations setting up IRBs and advancing the quantity and quality of oversight by IRBs have a history linked to abuses conducted almost entirely by government researchers. EPA continues to conduct research on humans including children without serious adherance to regulations.

Uhhhh, I didn't read the entire article, for time reasons.
But, many times while in the Army I got the idea that we were given injections of experimental substances.
For many years thereafter, I suspected that those mystery substances were designed to remove pesky moral inhibitions, so as to help us be more efficient disposers of enemy personnel.

I doubt I'll ever know if those suspicions had or have any merit, but that's what I thought back then.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight, and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be.  One hundred percent and then some.
