...The last multi-day wood cutting campaign took me three days to recover from.
My shoulders and elbows never hurt as bad as they have been lately...

Been there. Done that. Gave it up for old age.

The smaller sizes of electric/hydraulic wood splitters are pretty inexpensive (see Loews or Home Depot). Whatever the price, they are really cheap compared to your shoulders and elbows.

Here's one that's a duplicate of, but a different brand from, the one we have: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sun-Joe-Logger-Joe-5-Ton-15-Amp-Electric-Log-Splitter-LJ601E/203232090

Nice look'en wood pile there Wade! Do you have a log splitter or are you wedge and sledge'n it? A good "air tight" wood burner is great to have. We had one and I miss it. Not much need for it here now, I'm about 40 miles south of Tampa off I-75. I enjoyed being out doors working on the wood pile. I tried to have all the wood cut by Thanksgiving for the following year. Seldom achieved that goal, but that was the goal none the less.
Hi LE Joe!

No, I have a splitting maul and a couple axes. I've never (so far), needed a wedge and sledge combination.
If the snow holds off a few more weeks, I plan to go back up there for a couple more truck loads soon.

The last multi-day wood cutting campaign took me three days to recover from.
My shoulders and elbows never hurt as bad as they have been lately.

Thanks for asking!  Haha!

You are forgetting that animals that are food also come wrapped in skin, fir, feathers and what have you. Kinda like a banana . . . . You peel it prior to consumption.
Come to think of it you peel oranges, potatoes (sometimes).
Although I assume that in most cases you would clean and remove the mud, dirt and stuff before you fire up the BBQ.
Heck in most cases you even peel fish or seafood in general.
I can't imagine eating a crab or lobster without digging inside to get to the meat.
Darn . . . . Now I'm hungry.

If cows were not to be used as food, God would have made them harder to catch. You don't see Cheetah burgers at Micky D's!  Just say'en.

Speaking as someone with a small amount of dairy-farm experience, I have to add that if cows were meant to be eaten, they would've been made a lot less friendly and a whole lot cleaner.

Compared to deer, cows are pigs.
(But then, pigs are even worse...and smarter, too.)
