Maine/Pennsylvania Drop Reciprocity!

Pennsylvania has removed Maine from the list of states it had a reciprocity agreement with. PA now just lists them as a state a PA resident can apply for a non resident prmit. When Maine went permitless carry they also changed their statute on how they honor other states. They removed reciprocity from their law and now it just stats they will honor anyone who honors them. Maine removed the listing of 8 states they had agreements with and replaced it with a link to their new statute. Agreements usually have a inform clause stating if a states laws change that could affect the agreement the state will notify the other state. Maine most likely did and so the PA AG dropped them. They could have honored them without an agreement as they honor about a dozen other states without an agreement. www.handgunlaw.us has been updated to show this change in reciprocity. Wait a minute, Gary...I'm confused.

If Maine went to permitless concealed carry, I cannot understand why I would need any state's permit at all while carrying concealed in Maine.
I can understand that Maine residents' ability to carry concealed in other states might now have become quite complicated, but that should not be an issue to visiting concealed-weapon carriers.

Right?
Or am I missing something?

Without them honoring each other PA no longer will honor a Maine Permit. 

The following locations are off limits to those carrying under Permitless Carry in Maine. You have to have a Maine permit or a resident permit from a state Maine honors to carry in the below listed areas.
 Acadia National Park (Permit required; 12 M.R.S. §756)
 State Parks (Permit required; open carry not permitted; 12 M.R.S. § 1803(7))
 Regular archery hunting-deer only (Permit required; 12 MRS § 11403)
 Employees’ vehicles on work premises (Permit required; vehicle must be locked and firearm
must not be visible; 26 M.R.S. §600)
