No, ladies and gentlemen, it is not "nuts".

SAS, Delta, and other Tier One units such as FSB Alpha who's members are featured here regularly practice live-fire exercises with live humans mixed into the targets. You can't criticize or dismiss this unless you're prepared to criticize and dismiss other units that do this.

I've seen a video of training in the Philippines that involved rifle fire into the ground within a foot of a trainee during a firing drill. Seems extreme and may not be the best way to do what they want to do with training, but it has a purpose and it does produce results.

I'm not prepared to engage in such training myself, but I'm not a member of a Tier One unit such as FSB Alpha either. There are some pieces of that drill that can be adapted to my level, however. Thus, the video provides useful information to me.

Wow, I do not want to be on their bad side!   
The groupings/accuracy is pretty incredible also.  Considering that on average in the US, LEOs only hit like 20% of their shots, these guys are impressive.

It'll never happen here, the lawyers would just swarm such an event.
