All of this technology is great if it's used the right way. It always seems to get abused by our corrupt government though.

I was on my way to San Felipe, Baja, Mexico, back in the 80s on a S. CA
Yucca Valley Harley store/group run and we stopped in a tiny was probably just
a gas station (waaay outside of the horrible traffic of Mexicali, to get something
cold to drink.

As I was sitting atop a picnic table enjoying the warming sunshine, a CHP (Calif.
Highway patrol) looking black and white vehicle pulled into the sandy parking area.
Out of it popped a smartly dressed Mexican CMP officer with an immaculate brown
uniform, tilted cap (like the old Navy officers wore, back in the day) and the darkest
shades I've ever seen.  If you've seen images of the bandito anywhere, then
that was "spot on!".  Also his vehicle had blackened out windows on all of the
windows.

I suppose since there were so many Harleys there he had to stop to try to intimidate
us, but he didn't we all stared back at him with our colors and shades on and tried to
get him into conversation, but I only speak a widdle bit o Mexican (spanish)...then he
got into his ride and literally roared off.

One thing you don't want to get, is stopped south of the border (then or now...)

The Feds are supplying 30 grand fror the license plate readers. The read plates front back & both sides driving through a parking lot. A red flag goes up when a plate that is read is tied to any individual that is wanted for anything. Bremerton has at least 1, & also Port Orchard might have them. Definitely have them the Seattle side. G2G

1984 comes one step closer... While the tech is great, the ease with which it can be (mis) used to oppress and prosecute  innocent people for politically "unpopular" views in frightening.

I am always very leery of advanced technology in the hands of those who have virtually unrestrained authority.

If any technology can be abused, you can bet your rear end that sooner or later someone, somewhere WILL abuse it against political opponents. It is simply human nature...
