teens attack 65 yr old

two kids attack a 65 yr old man while he was riding a bike.
he shot them one was killed the other was sent to the hospital.

Another solid argument why carrying a cell phone (with 911 on speed dial) and a "rape whistle" is no substitute for a handgun.

(Yes that "safer" alternative was actually suggested to me by my 70 year old mother this past week ::) ) "Now wouldn't you feel just horrible if you wound up killing someone trying to rape or murder you dear? A whistle is a much more civilized alternative to scare them off with."  Seriously? :-\

It might deafen them. and put you out of breath, but if the rapist or BG were hardcore I doubt that would take them away from their intended tasks...I'm sure you'd be safer mentally with a pistol at hand!?
