Women & The Smart Carry

Anyone know any females that have used the Smart Carry holster?

So get a model (bet your wife would volunteer) and see how it looks/works on her?  Or if your not married see the first recommendation.

Lastly, post your thoughts here, and on the blog - curious minds wanna know!

My wife has tried mine but she does not like anything that makes her tummie look fat. She has a very flat front and says she can tell it is there. I told her if she wore loose fitting cloathes it would not show but we have not gone there. Hope you all have better luck with your swettie.

I purchased the bra holster for her and she loves it. Can't remember the proper name of it, but it snaps on her bra and holds my crimson trace 642 38 spl snubbie. (Flash Bang Holster) Sorry.

The first site gave me a "malformed video ID" error and the second worked though.  Thanks!  Holsters are becoming pretty well-concealed these days, aren't they  :)

Got a website link for the store that carries them?

My PistolWear band sometimes slides around into the 12:00 area under sweatpants (normally keep it at 2:00).  It's not uncomfortable, but not a place I'd choose for everyday, mostly because of the more difficult draw.  It also seems like the closer to 12 the more it tends to let the top of the gun flop forward a bit, creating a bulge, so I would have to be a lot more careful about waistband retention if I wore sweats out of the house.  It's nice to have something more flexible than leather/kydex and an option that doesn't require a belt (lots of women's clothes don't have belt loops).

What weapon do  you use with it?  You might try the Flash-Bang Bra:  This one seems to be new and a viable "serious" product for women to conceal with.

I'm sure that's the delivery time between your address and where the distributorship is.  Even though it says the maximum wait time is (probably 6 weeks) we usually get items in less than...

Please let the board know when you get yours Granny.  Thanks!

My daughter wore her flashbang for the first time in Atlanta last Thursday. She is home for Thanksgiving and said she had problems with the holster not staying in place and the muzzel end of her handgun turning downward.

I took slack out of the leather loop. It is the loop that fastened on the bra with a snap.  The length was letting the holster hang too low so I moved it to another hole and then made another hole and moved it even shorter. We will see how that works. I feel with some tweaking it will work well. One may need to put some kind of holder on the barrel end of the holster and affix it to the bra cup, in some way, to get the holster to hold the handgun horizantal at all times. She said if the holster would stay in place, and not creep to one side, it would be the best concealed carry she has ever used.

Her holster is for the Ruger LCR 38 spl and it is a tad bit bigger than the SW 642 snubbie. My sweetie has not worn her yet so we will see how it does with the 642 soon. When you hold both holsters side by side, the one for the LCR is bigger.

Granny D, you very well may need to tweak yours when you get it. To change the length of the short strap one only needs to loosen and remove the screw, in the center of the snap base, and move it up a whole, which is pre drilled. If that don't work then drill another hole and shorten it even more. By the way the holster comes with 2 extra longer leather bands of different lengths. The shorter one comes on the holster.

I am sure this thing will work well with a little tweaking and jerri rigging. My daughter did say the sholder harness, on her seat belt as she drove, ran right across the flashbang when it was in place and her roscoe was in it. Said it was a tad bit harder to get to the handgun IHO.
