Published June 05, 2017for full story go to the link.
An Oklahoma man who was trying to drown his twin 3-month-old children was shot and killed by a neighbor Friday, police said.
City of Ada spokeswoman Lisa Bratcher told reporters that Leland Foster, 27, of Poteau, died from gunshot wounds after a 12-year-old girl ran from the home and alerted a neighbor for help.
Bratcher said the neighbor, identified as Cash Freeman, told police he went to the home armed with a handgun and shot Foster twice after seeing him holding the infants under water in a bathtub while threatening the children’s mother with a knife.
Time will tell.

Absolutlely! I would be obligated to help. Don't know if I could forgive myself if I didn't.

I certainly hope that I would have the intestinal fortitude to do what the neighbor did.

From the write up it would appear to have been the proper procedure at the time.
I am not a lawyer but the above is the "politically correct" answer.

Food for thought . . . . .
I need a lot more information than what that write up is supplying.
That line that he was threatening his wife with a knife seems strange to me.
How can you be a threat with a knife while attempting to drown a child???
Another example of the media not reporting the entire scenario . . . .

I ask you, why do they do that????

I heard about this on the news.
It's hard for me to imagine someone drowning a kid like that.

I don't know the details of the incident, so cannot comment about what I "would have" done.
Something tells me that I'd be more prone to picking up a big stick and whacking his head with it FIRST.
Then, if that didn't stop him... escalation to whatever was necessary.
But again, the urgency of the moment may not have allowed the stick solution.
I would have stopped it, one way or the other.  That much is certain.

Speaking only for myself, whacking with a stick is out of the question.
The guy looks pretty robust, so the whack would probably get me drowned too.

He was killing the children, so killing him immediately, without discussing it first, was the best move.

Hummm, I didn't see an image of this guy before commenting.
I suppose there would be a "cut off" point for the stick usage!
Kind of like a "go-no go" threshold of size and robustness!
