Why Do I Carry?
« on: August 29, 2016, 02:50:40 PM »
What most 21st Century Americans simply do not grasp is that the Constitution and Bill of Rights were not written to to give rights to the citizens of our then-new nation, but was instead written to tightly constrain the federal government.

Yeah.

I still remember that police chief (i think it was police chief anyway) saying stuff like "how long shall we let this kind of thing happen"?

Of course he was alluding to "gun control", which has NOTHING to do with the criminal mindset...that primitive mindset spoken of about making "eye contact".  Sigh

Of course he was alluding to "gun control"...[emphasis added]

Funny thing: No, he wasn't!
His next sentence was about making the criminals completely responsible for their acts.
He was upset that these two thugs were out of prison after serving only a part of their serious-gun-crime penalties (only the most recent of five).
(And his words were actually played all the way out, right on the ABC-TV news!)

Ok I remember that.

I wonder if he added that part about making them pay...to cover his butt after getting very close to leaving himself open to attacks about how useless Chicago's gun laws have been?

You know me.
I'm suspicious about everything.
