What most 21st Century Americans simply do not grasp is that the Constitution and Bill of Rights were not written to to give rights to the citizens of our then-new nation, but was instead written to tightly constrain the federal government.

if they were going to use real weapons. They should have been cleared by several people.

They should have used laser replacements.
Time will tell.

Even if the guns were checked 100 times, even if they were using fake bullets, there is NO REASON to point a gun at someone and pull the trigger in a classroom. (if that's what happened) Nobody knows that more now than the people involved in this tragic accident, I'm sure.

I agree Joe.

Once the DOJ hears about this, all shoot/no-shoot training will be changed to finger pointing and shouting "Bang!"

Number two of the four major rules of safe gun handling is pointing the muzzle . . . . .
Why the finger was on the trigger is another huge question mark.

For any one seeing this I am posting as a friendly reminder:
The Four Rules of Gun Safety
Rule One:    The Gun is Always Loaded!
Rule Two:    Never Point A Gun at Something You Are Not Prepared to Destroy!
Rule Three:  Always Be Sure of Your Target and What is Behind It!
Rule Four:    Keep Your Finger Off The Trigger Until Your Sights Are On The Target!
Anyone of these rules could have eliminated this event . . . . . .
For someone who carries a gun for a living breaking all four of these rules at once should be considered a criminal act.

I just recently found this image.
Thought some of you might get a smile from it . . . .
