This reminds me of the lawsuit against Remington for the "faulty" trigger mechanism on early 700 series rifles.

Let's face it, if proper handling methods and techniques are used in muzzle discipline, no one ever need die because of a "faulty" trigger.

But of course, that's another topic altogether.

So? The case is closed, I assume, would the every day citizen get the same deal, no further investigation on the matter, no slap on the hand and scorned and placed in time out for a bad boy day?
