Quote
Macias reached for the seat belt mechanism, in a failed attempt to remove it. The backseat passenger saw Macias reach for something around his waistband, and fearing for his life and the life of the woman in the front passenger seat, the backseat passenger fired two shots from a handgun, with both shots striking Macias.

Police confirm they discovered a screwdriver lying next to Macias’s body and investigators see this as a clear case of self-defense, and defense of a third party.

What most 21st Century Americans simply do not grasp is that the Constitution and Bill of Rights were not written to to give rights to the citizens of our then-new nation, but was instead written to tightly constrain the federal government.

Afraid for life?

Ok.

Again? Really?

If the perp did indeed have a screwdriver, and it sound like he had it in his hand, that would be cause for concern.

We did have a case not too long ago (last year, maybe) where a driver mistakenly pulled in to the wrong driveway and was shot by the home owner. The home owner did not fare well in court.

Just because somebody turns around in your driveway is no excuse to chase him down.  Since I live in a cul-de-sac with only one way in and one way out,  I could get plenty of exercise chasing people down for turning around in my driveway.  It seems that many drivers don't understand English or think that signs bearing "No Outlet" and "Dead End" are rock bands.

Please excuse, my friend.
I'm about to go to the abandoned railroad tracks.  I'm thinking early tomorrow morning, IF I can get myself out of bed in time to do that.
It's possible that the clouds will part long enough to get a glimpse of the heavens just prior to the SUN coming to the valley.
Ciao

Wait...
They're not?

Those names..."No Outlet"...and that other one whatever it was...THAT makes me fear for my life!
Oops.  Sorry.  The sarcasm of ages is showing through.

By golly, that seems to apply in this situation as well!

Yup. that's me: Ancient Philosopher Steve.

I'd sit upon a mountain top in a cave, and await visits from acolytes seeking enlightenment, but I've never liked climbing mountains, and my telekinetic-transport abilities have not improved with time.

I have felt that in my life. Then, my wifey says, "Honey, can you get the door. I think the pizza's here!"  The glowing white light that surrounds me, and the flowing white robes that adorn me simply fade away. My levitated self slams to the couch, I return to my "Al Bundy" slump, and turn off the "Law and Order" reruns that I have been binge-watching to feed my mortal self.
